Do you provide structural type engineering?

We are a Water/Wastewater type of Engineering company. We do NOT provide structural engineering services such as structural certifications or design of structures.

Do you provide GEOTECHNICAL type engineering?

We are a Water/Wastewater type of Engineering company. We do NOT provide geotechnical engineering services such as compaction testing or structural soils investigations. 

Please google “geotechnical engineer”, there are a couple in Prescott and many in the greater Phoenix area.

can you do a site plan?

We do exactly that! Most likely you are asking because you have a property in Maricopa or Yavapai County and you need to submit for a permit to grade or build on your land.

can you do a GRADING & DRAINAGE plan?

Yes, absolutely! See our answer to the Site Plan Question just above. G&Ds (as we call them) and site plans are not quite the same, we can help you sort it out!

I want to build a house on my property. what do i need to do?

Town of Wickenburg: You need a Site Plan, we can help you with that.

Maricopa County: Most likely you will need a G&D. For that you will also need a topographic survey (that is not the same as a boundary survey, most property owners don’t have a topo). We can complete the survey and the G&D for you. You will also need a septic system design and of course house plans.

Yavapai County: You probably need a G&D, in some cases a site plan is sufficient. For the G&D, you will also need a topographic survey (that is not the same as a boundary survey, most property owners don’t have a topo). We can complete the survey and the G&D or site plan for you. You will also need a septic system design and of course house plans. In Yavapai County you also need a geotechnical report for the soil below your structure. 

am i in the floodplain – and what does that mean?

Please  give us a call at 480-252-5295 and have your Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) ready. We will look it up for you.

If you are in the Floodplain, your residence has to be elevated to a certain level. We can do that determination for you. You can still build fencing in the floodplain but it has to be a certain type of fence and you need a floodplain use permit. 

is floodplain the same as floodway?

hose two terms both refer to a FEMA flood zone but they have entirely different meanings. In short, building in a floodplain comes with some extra cost and complications, building in the floodway is VERY difficult and is associated with much more stringent requirements and complications due to the location in the main portion of the flood zone. 

can i just get a permit for my fence and deal with the house later?

Yes, we can help you with that specific type of permit as well. Remember, any time a G&D is required by the reviewing authority, a licensed engineer has to sign the plans. You cannot just submit your own drawing.
