Carolina Baertsch, P.E.

Principal, Founder & Owner

I am from Switzerland where I originally worked as a teacher. My passion for solving problems got me into the engineering field, where I hold a Masters in Civil and Environmental Engineering. While attending Arizona State University as a research assistant, I developed a source tracking method for microbial aerosols emitted from land applied Class B biosolids during high wind events (published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology, July 2007).

As Founding Principal, I bring passion, leadership and expertise to WCE project assignments. I manage technical aspects of projects and also excel as the primary point of contact and communicator with the Owner’s Representative. My experience includes water system improvement designs, wastewater system evaluations and rehabilitation, water and wastewater systems modeling and design, master plans and water and wastewater treatment including biological odor control systems.

One of my first projects that I completed won the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) “Best Technical Assistance Project” Award.

Certifications: Professional Civil Engineer, Arizona (49826); Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, (LEED) Green Building Institute.
