Consulting Services for a Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility
A Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility in Arizona hired WCE to aid in completing a lengthy and complicated permit renewal process. The facility had been trying to renew their permit for a number of years. WCE was able to suggest a new approach with several changes to the existing efforts that ultimately allowed the client to renew their permit.
The facility typically receives wastes via commercial hazardous waste transporters. Solid hazardous wastes are received in roll-off bins, drums, pails, and other miscellaneous-sized containers meeting Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Liquid hazardous wastes are received in drums, pails, totes, miscellaneous-sized containers meeting DOT standards, and tanker trucks.
City of Tolleson Discharge Study and Permitting Assistance
WCE is completing a study using equipotentials and streamlines to calculate the seepage pattern of discharge as it disperses in the soil zone from the pond bottom of wetlands or the canal. This approach will provide convincing evidence to the permitting authority that the intermittent discharges by Tolleson will not adversely affect the groundwater water quality in the vicinity of the discharge.
